This is Me
I came to counselling later in life, having spent over 20 years in the corporate world. I have vast lived experience, which I find makes it easier for me to relate to my clients. You can talk to me about marriage, divorce, children, blended families, career changes, life changes, bereavement, and everything in-between!
My passion is and has always been people. With me, you will find a safe, compassionate, non-judgemental space where you can feel heard.
I believe that when it comes to therapy, there is no ‘one size fits all’ approach that will work for everyone. Your needs are as individual as you are, so your input is a key component in creating a therapeutic pathway to help you navigate the difficulties you are facing. I take a collaborative approach to treatment and will consider the world view you bring to the therapeutic space in formulating a therapy style to suit you.
One of the main indicators for success in therapy is the connection between therapist and client. Personality fit is important. For this reason, I will always check in with you to gauge your level of comfort with me in a therapeutic setting. If it is the wrong fit, or you are not feeling a connection, I will be more than happy to refer you elsewhere because you, as the client are my priority.
I use evidence based methods in treatment, and take the stance of a facilitator helping you to find the answers rather than dictating solutions. While a Person Centred Approach underpins all of my work, I also use the following therapy styles in my practice:
