Amanda Moore

Senior Counsellor and Psychotherapist

B.Acct, M.Couns, M.A.C.A (ACA20156)

Amanda is the founder and director of Beaches Women's Therapy, known for her extremely warm and approachable demeanor. She holds a special interest in working with couples and women of all ages.

With a professional journey spanning decades in various roles across the corporate and private sectors, coupled with the experience of raising four children, Amanda's counselling practice is a true labor of love. Her vast lived experience allows her to easily relate to her clients on a deep and authentic level.

Amanda is particularly known for her ability to decode and help people recognise their own maladaptive patterns, serving as a strong advocate for self-discovery and empowering individuals to make positive changes. She takes a collaborative approach to treatment and will consider the world view you bring to the therapeutic space in formulating a therapy style to suit you.

Amanda brings extensive clinical experience in treating concerns such as anxiety, stress, depression, adult ADHD, grief and loss, self-esteem issues, relationship and couples dynamics, and working with children. She works through multiple therapeutic modalities with an attachment base and person centred lens underpinning her work.

Her commitment to evidence-based practice is demonstrated by her specialised training in several highly respected modalities, including:

  • Adolescent Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT)

  • Gottman Method Couples Therapy (L1 and L2)

  • Accreditation as a provider of the Macquarie University Cool Kids Program

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)

  • Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)

  • Narrative Therapy (NT)

  • Emotionally Focused Couple's Therapy (EFCT)

Amanda’s passion has always been people and she believes strongly that one of the main indicators for success in therapy is the connection between therapist and client and will always check in with her clients to gauge their level of comfort in a therapeutic setting.

Erica Knox

Counsellor

DipCouns, M.A.C.A (ACA15033)

Erica is a warm and curious counsellor with a genuine interest in how people navigate relationships, change and challenge. Erica has experience working with both men and women in complex relationship dynamics.

She brings not only clinical counselling experience working with both couples and individuals, but also a long career in the private sector where she developed skills in nurturing relationships, building trust and balancing demands both locally and in international contexts. That background informs how she works, with an interest in understanding what sits underneath a presenting concern, exploring patterns with clients and helping them deepen their own insight into what's shaping their experience.

Erica works across a range of presentations including anxiety, grief, relationship difficulty, stress management, body image and self worth concerns, and life's challenges in general. She draws on Emotionally Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Narrative approaches and Family Systems thinking, with an integrative and client-led lens.
